5 Days in Orlando for Newcomers

Orlando is really one of the best places to take a vacation in the whole country because there’s just so much to do here. With all the attractions and events, planning a five day itinerary can seem like an impossible task. To help you out a little, we’ve compiled a 5-day plan that packs in so much you need to see and do on your Orlando vacation.

Of course, each person has their unique vacation preferences, so take this list as a good place to start when creating your own plan. You may want to spend most of your time at Disney, or none at all – it’s your vacation, do whatever sounds best to you.

Day 1: Disney Parks

It’d be hard to imagine an Orlando vacation without Disney. At this point, the two have virtually become synonymous. Unless you want to devote all five days to Walt Disney World®, you’ll have to pick and choose what parks and attractions you want to see.

Because of the time it takes to move between parks, the maximum you’ll be able to get to in one day reasonably is two parks. For adventure-lovers, spend the majority of the day at Magic Kingdom® riding the great coasters, then hop over to Hollywood Studios® to hit the Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster® and Tower of Terror™.

Day 2: Universal Parks

For thrill-seekers and families with teens, Universal is the place to go. Their attractions like The Incredible Hulk Coaster® and Revenge of the Mummy™ are as fast and fun as any rollercoasters in the country. But, they also have next-gen rides the likes of which you won’t find anywhere else. The two new Harry Potter rides incorporate 3D storytelling elements into a thrill ride setup so that you feel as if you’ve been sucked right into the Wizarding World. Fans of the series will love wandering around Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley, and you may want to do nothing else for the rest of your trip than get lost in the magical world.

Day 3: Beach

After all the theme park action you may be ready for a day of relaxation. That’s the beauty of central Florida – you can easily get away to some of the top rated beaches in the country in about an hour. Check out Clearwater beach on the Gulf for the beautiful white sand and calm waters. You can even join in on a pirate cruise as the ship sails along the beach, or watch it from the shore.

Day 4: Disney Springs

See another side of Walt Disney World® at Disney Springs, a premier central Florida dining, shopping, and event spot. Here you can find upscale dining options like Paddlefish, tasty food trucks like 4 Rivers Cantina, and everything in between! After dinner, catch one of your favorite bands playing at the House of Blues® or have some family fun at Splitsville Luxury Lanes™. The options are endless, and so is the fun.

Day 5: Gatorland

Get out and experience the natural terrain and wildlife of Florida at Gatorland. You truly won’t find a place like this anywhere else, where there are thousands of alligators and crocodiles living on this wildlife preserve. There’s so much to do at Gatorland, from their live shows to the one-of-a-kind experiences like the Trainer for a Day program, Stompin’ Gator Off-Road Adventure, and Screamin’ Gator Zip Line. You’re guaranteed to leave with great stories to tell and pictures to show your friends.
