Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party Returns for 2023

Get ready for some frightful fun! Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is returning to Magic Kingdom.

The beloved after-hours event will take place on select nights between August 11 and November 1, 2023. MNSSHP goes from 7 p.m. to midnight.

Here’s everything you need to know about Walt Disney World’s family-friendly extravaganza.

Trick-or-Treaters enjoy Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Walt Disney World.

Eerie Entertainment

MNSSHP is loaded with exclusive shows and activities.

Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade is a must-see.

The Headless Horseman will be the first to gallop down Main Street U.S.A. Next, you’ll see a procession of your favorite Disney characters, with everyone dressed in their Halloween finest. Daunting villains and Haunted Mansion residents will also make an appearance.

Other not-so-scary entertainment includes:

  • The Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, a bewitching show staring the Sanderson Sisters. Classic villains like Dr. Facilier, Oogie Boogie, and Maleficent make ghoulish guest appearances.

  • A scary-funny a cappella performance by the Cadaver Dans Barbershop Quartet. The zombified singers will have you howling with laughter as they cover songs like “This is Halloween” and “Cruella de Vil.”

  • Disney Junior Jam, an all-night dance party at Storybook Circus in Fantasyland. Young parkgoers will love showing off their moves to characters like Doc McStuffins, Vampirina, and Timon from The Lion King.

At the night’s end, head to Cinderella’s Castle for Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular. Jack Skellington of The Nightmare Before Christmas hosts this stunning fireworks display. The show also features Mickey, Minnie, and other classic Disney characters as they explore a haunted house.

A Sweet Way to Spend Halloween

Guests of all ages can trick-or-treat at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

Collect your candy in the special edition keepsake bag you get when you enter the Magic Kingdom. Fill your new bag at trick-or-treating stations around the park. You’ll soon find yourself goblin up your favorite candies like Skittles, Snickers, and M&M’s. An allergy-friendly trick-or-treating option is available upon request.

The theme park will also sell Halloween-themed snacks. Last year’s options included:

  • Soft serve topped with candy corn, which had guests screaming for ice cream

  • The Pain and Panic hot dog, served with Sriracha mustard and spicy cheese curls

  • Rich almond vanilla cake decorated like a piece of candy corn

  • A brownie inspired by Mexican hot chocolate, featuring Coco-themed toppings

  • Funnel cake with chocolate ice cream, gummy worms, and a chocolate piece shaped like Billy from Hocus Pocus

  • Freshly made popcorn served in a souvenir Mickey Mummy bucket

A great night of trick-or-treating calls for a great Halloween costume. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party gives teens and adults a rare chance to play dress-up at Walt Disney World. Before breaking out your best Jedi or princess garb, review Disney’s costume guidelines.

Tickets for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

To go to the party, you’ll need to buy a standalone event ticket for the date of your choice. For guests 10 and older, tickets start at $109. Youth tickets (ages 3-9) cost upward of $99. As always, Walt Disney World admission is free for children under 3.

Tickets are expected to sell quickly, so make your purchase soon, especially if you want to go on October 31.

Experience All the Disney Magic

Magic Kingdom will open its gates for partygoers at 4 p.m. each day.

This gives you extra time to enjoy iconic attractions like Pirates of the Caribbean, and It’s a Small World. Once the party starts, most rides will stay open. Some, like Space Mountain and Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, will get a festive face-lift, thanks to lighting overlays

Among the rides staying open is the brand-new TRON Lightcycle / Run.

TRON, the new Magic Kingdom ride, will remain open with a virtual queue during Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Given the ride’s popularity, guests must put themselves in a virtual queue. This can be done at set times of day using the My Disney Experience app. Disney will announce how to MNSSHP guests can get on the Grid soon.

In 2023, the Walt Disney Company is celebrating its 100th anniversary with exclusive décor and merch. Magic Kingdom’s Emporium gift shop will sell souvenirs celebrating the company’s history, including Steamboat Willie and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit gifts.
