Orlando is a great destination if you’re looking to get away from the harsh winter weather where you live. If you’re planning on taking a trip to Orlando sometime soon, take a look at some of our travel tips to make sure you’re prepared for everything that lies ahead.
Weather
For the most part, Orlando doesn’t get incredibly wet or cold during the winter months. During the month of December in Orlando, the average high temperature is 73° F while the average low is 54° F. In January, temperatures drop to an average high of 72° F and an average low of 52° F, although those numbers go right back up in February with averages of 74° F and 53° F.
The point is, you don’t need to pack extremely warm clothing for a winter trip to Orlando. However, you should have some light jackets and other clothes on hand.
What to Do
One of the great parts about visiting Orlando during the winter is the range of activities you have available. Orlando is a city that knows entertainment, and you’ll find plenty of winter-themed entertainment if you visit at the right time.
LEGO fans will love the LEGOLAND Florida Christmas Bricktacular, a LEGO-themed Christmas event that features holiday LEGO creations to satisfy people of all ages. There’s a 30-foot-tall Christmas tree, a LEGO Santa, and all sorts of other creatures you’d expect to see at the North Pole—all made of LEGOs.
Another great winter event to enjoy in Orlando is the Kennedy Space Center’s Holidays in Space, a live dance performance that also gives you the opportunity to look inside the stunning visitor complex of the Kennedy Space Center, decorated just for the holidays.
