Treasure These 7 Pirate-themed Attractions in Orlando

Ahoy, me hearties — International Talk Like a Pirate Day is September 19.

The holiday started as an inside joke between best mateys in 1995. Since then, it has become a huge celebration of all things pirate. If you’re in Orlando for the day, set course for these pirate-themed attractions in Orlando and beyond.

Get Swashbuckling at Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom’s pirate-themed attractions delight buccaneers of all ages. If you’re spending Talk Like a Pirate Day in Walt Disney World, be sure to sail to these spots. They’re all included with your park ticket.

Pirates of the Caribbean

Our list wouldn’t be complete without Pirates of the Caribbean.

Pirate-Themed Attractions in Orlando - Pirates of the Caribbean

The iconic ride was the last that Walt Disney designed for Disneyland in California. The Orlando version, housed in a Spanish-style fortress, has wowed seafarers since 1973. Sail through a Caribbean port town and follow a crew of pirates searching for treasure and rum.

Can they hoist the loot onto their ship and sail off, or will Captain Jack Sparrow take it all for himself?

A Pirate’s Adventure: Treasures of the Seven Seas

If Pirates of the Caribbean makes you wish you were part of Jack Sparrow’s crew, head to the Crow’s Nest between Adventureland and Frontierland.

This is the starting point for A Pirates Adventure: Treasures of the Seven Seas. Pick up a treasure map and embark on an interactive scavenger hunt around Adventureland. Using your MagicBand or a special gameplay card, show off your seafaring chops on five fun missions.

Complete them all for a special prize.

Peter Pan’s Flight

Fly by night through this classic Disney attraction — but look out for Captain Hook and Mr. Smee.

You’ll find Peter Pan’s Flight in Fantasyland. Board a ship powered by pixie dust. Soar over London and Neverland, making stops at the Darling family’s home, Lost Boys camp, and Mermaid Lagoon along the way.

But just as you think it’s smooth sailing, the Darling children get captured by Captain Hook’s pirate crew. It’s up to Peter Pan to save the day.

Other Local Pirate-themed Attractions

While Magic Kingdom boasts a bounty of options for Talk Like a Pirate Day, you can find the Jolly Roger flying all around Central Florida. Whether you’re a seadog seeking to sail the briny deep or a landlubber looking for fun on dry ground, there are pirate-themed attractions for you.

Pirate’s Cove Adventure Golf

See if you can stay under parrr as you play putt-putt in and around a majestic ship.

Pirate’s Cove is an award-winning mini-golf course on International Drive. Play 18 or 36 holes among gorgeous waterfalls and lush landscaping. But avast, keep your eyes open for sunken ships and terrifying pirate dungeons.

Admission to Pirate’s Cove starts at $15.95 for adults and $13.95 for children.

Brickbeard’s Watersports Stunt Show at LEGOLAND Florida

There’s treasure to be found on the shores of Lake Eloise in LEGOLAND Florida.

Captain Brickbeard has set out to find it, but he needs some help. Join him and his second-in-command, Calico Jade, as they recruit brave pirates for their crew. The buccaneers-to-be must prove themselves with daunting waterskiing, wakeboarding, and flyboarding feats. Their stunts will make you say, “shiver me timbers!”

Brickbeard’s Watersports Stunt Show is included with your LEGOLAND admission.

Pirates Dinner Adventure

After a long day exploring treasured Orlando attractions, gather the crew for a meal at Pirates Dinner Adventure.

At this interactive dinner theater, you’ll enjoy a three-course meal fresh from the galley. While you dine, watch a crew of acrobatic pirates as they sing, dance, and duel. Admission starts at $67.95 for adults and $41.95 for kids. For a few extra doubloons, you can upgrade to a premium meal, buy an alcohol package, or dress the part with a souvenir eyepatch and bandana.

Sail into the dinner show 60-90 minutes before showtime to enjoy appetizers and a preshow. Stick around afterward for an all-ages dance party.

Captain Memo’s Pirate Cruise

Become a buccaneer for a day with an excursion to Clearwater, Florida.

In the 18th century, Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico were hotspots for real-life pirates. Travel back to those days aboard the Pirate’s Ransom during a 2-hour boat tour the whole family will love. Expect a fun treasure hunt, face painting, games, seafaring stories, and dancing.

Clearwater is about 2 hours away from Orlando. If you plan to drive to the Gulf Coast, you can book your tour directly with Captain Memo’s.

Or skip the drive and book your excursion with Real Florida Adventures. This tour company provides round-trip transportation from Orlando’s ICON Park or the Golden Corral in Lake Buena Vista. In addition to the pirate cruise, Real Florida Adventures’ tour package includes lunch and time on Clearwater’s white-sand beaches.
