Walt Disney World Virtual Marathon Weekend
These are anything but typical times, but that doesn’t mean the timeless magic of runDisney has to run out of steam. To provide an event that anyone can attend, Walt Disney World is excited to announce that the Walt Disney World Marathon will provide a virtual option from January 6–10, 2021.
Since 1994, the weekend race series has delighted running enthusiasts and Disney lovers alike, and now the exciting race and its accompanying challenges can be enjoyed at the comfort found in creating your own course. 
Magical Disney Marathons Virtually Anywhere
There are four races available for varying levels of skill and fun:
- Set for Thursday, January 7, 2021, the 5k is perfect for beginners and veteran runners alike. There are two options, Magic ($40) and More Magic ($79), each with their own specific goodies for you to enjoy.
- For those wanting a brisk pace without too much of a challenge, this 6.2-mile option scheduled for Friday, January 8, 2021, is recommended. The Magic ($49) and More Magic ($99) options are also available with varying goodies based on your selection.
- Half-Marathon. Seasoned runners are wanted for this 13.1 virtual mile option on Saturday, January 9, 2021. The Magic ($59) and More Magic ($118) options come with digital race tool kits to print mile markers for progress.
- This is the crown jewel of the race series. Intrepid runners can push their endurance to the limits with this 26.2 mile adventure with the Magic ($65) and More Magic ($120) options.
More Challenges, More Disney Magic
The fun doesn’t stop with the main race options. Enjoy additional challenges that will have you running more miles over more days, with the Dopey Challenge (48.6 miles in four consecutive days) and the Goofy Challenge (39.3 over two days of running). There is also the Disney Castaway Cay Challenge, the combination of one Virtual Walt Disney World Marathon event with the Castaway Cay 5k.
