Love classic cars and free shows? Then cruise to Old Town in Kissimmee, Florida, to enjoy a unique stroll down memory lane. Every Saturday night since 1983, classic cars roll into Old Town and line the streets for this premier car show. This outdoor display is free and open to all. Car enthusiasts, young, old, and the curious have always found something to admire in the careful restorations these cars have undergone. Guests also enjoy the free, family-friendly entertainment provided by local musicians, carnival acts, and animal sideshows. Vintage, antique, and rare cars and trucks roll in early, so you have all evening and night to admire these automotive beauties. You are welcome to peek under the hoods or in the cabins, but don’t touch! These cars are there to show off and compete for a chance to win a drawing. Two winners are announced monthly. Each receives a grand prize of $1,000. If you’re in the neighborhood, then come check out Old Town’s Classic Car Show.
SeaWorld’s Aquatica announces the opening of Florida’s first-ever dueling racer water slide on April 3, 2021, here in Orlando. This ride, good for up to four people, has you paired off in your own two-person raft. Enter your lane which runs parallel with the competition along the 68-foot tower. Aquatica’s website says, “It’s a dash to the splash as you compete in this side-by-side raft run through high-speed tunnels, twists, and turns.” Low walls help you keep track of the other racers as you (hopefully) maintain first place. It’s been a long year during which Aquatica has been quietly getting this amazing, one-of-a-kind ride ready for the summer. Along with the new ride at the waterpark comes the grand opening of Ke-Re’s Bar and will soon open Papa’s Cantina. Slather on the sunscreen and schedule your next family outing to SeaWorld’s Aquatica.
Visit late 19th century Paris through the Belle Époque’s most famous scenester and master artist, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. Experience the famed Parisian Bohemian world through this Post-Impressionist’s eyes in paintings, drawings, and famous lithographic posters that identified and mass-produced the bohemian nightlife, a la Moulin Rouge, all things cabaret, and risqué. Toulouse-Lautrec erased the line between fine and commercial art as he was commissioned to advertise his own favorite nightspots, cabarets, concert halls, and theaters, which some are still popular today. Step back into the Belle Époque and experience for yourself the height of bohemian glamour in the romantic city of lights, Paris, France. Visit the gallery which is 45 minutes south of Orlando at the Polk Museum of Art at Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida. This exhibition runs until May 23, 2021. Admission is free Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., but reservations are required.
