He is also a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame and recipient of the prestigious Johnny Mercer Award from the Songwriter Hall of Fame.

Known for acclaimed roles in such films as Lone Star, Dolphin Tale, and Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore, Kristofferson even won a Golden Globe for his performance opposite Barbara Streisand in 1976’s A Star Is Born.
