Kris Kristofferson at The Plaza Live
Rich in history, The Plaza Live is one of Orlando’s most treasured venues for live performances. When legendary singer/songwriter Kris Kristofferson graces the stage of the renowned theater on Monday, January 27, 2020, the lucky guests in attendance will experience an unforgettable evening of songs and stories to cherish for years to come.
Versatile Musician
Kristofferson began his career as a Nashville songwriter for established musicians such as Willie Nelson. His most successful songwriting credits include “Me and Bobby McGee,” “For the Good Times,” and “Help Me Make It Through the Night.” His penned song “Sunday Mornin’ Comin’ Down” became a hit for Johnny Cash, which led to a lifelong collaboration and friendship that produced the country supergroup The Highwaymen, in which Kristofferson performed alongside pals Cash, Nelson, and Waylon Jennings.
Celebrated Artist
After years behind the stage, Kristofferson began recording his own material — churning out 28 successful albums over the course of his performing career. The three-time GRAMMY winner has since been awarded and recognized by some of the largest institutions in the music industry. In 2014, Kristofferson was honored with a GRAMMY Lifetime Achievement Award as well as the PEN Song Lyrics of Literary Excellence Award. He is also a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame and recipient of the prestigious Johnny Mercer Award from the Songwriter Hall of Fame.
Accomplished Actor
Proving his creative talent isn’t limited to music, Kristofferson parlayed his musical success into a lengthy dramatic acting career. Known for acclaimed roles in such films as Lone Star, Dolphin Tale, and Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore, Kristofferson even won a Golden Globe for his performance opposite Barbara Streisand in 1976’s A Star Is Born.
Back on the Road
Never one to slow down, 83-year-old Kristofferson is back on the road in support of his latest album, Feeling Mortal. While each show contains renditions of his new tracks, Kristofferson will also perform his top hits and share exclusive tales with the audience as he reflects on his legendary career.
This rare touring engagement should be a bucket list item for true music fans, so be sure to take advantage of seeing this legendary musician perform at such an historic venue while you have the opportunity.
