Feel Fancy during Dapper Day at Disney

Dust off your bow ties and get ready to pin up your curls because Dapper Day at Walt Disney World is around the corner. Dapper Day occurs twice a year, two days in the spring and two days in the fall. Guests from all over visit to don their finest vintage inspired clothing. Most importantly, don’t forget your camera.

When and Where is Dapper Day at Disney?

This spring Dapper Day will be held on April 30, 2022, at EPCOT and May 1, 2022, at Hollywood Studios. This doesn’t mean you can’t visit the other parks while dolled up, but these are the parks and dates that most of the Dapper Day participants will be at.

You don’t need a special ticket to attend Dapper Day. All you need is a theme park ticket and a park pass reservation for the park and date you are attending.

Bonus: The International Flower & Garden Festival will be happening at EPCOT during Dapper Day. This will give you even more photo opportunities.

What is Dapper Day?

Dapper Day was created by a L.A. designer and artist, Justin Jorgensen, who wanted people to be able to dress up in retro clothing without feeling judged. He enjoyed the mix of contemporary clothes with vintage style, and he wanted others to feel comfortable in wearing this type of clothing in public as well.

The first Dapper Day event occurred in Disneyland in 2011. He encouraged people to dress up a little or a lot. Today, Dapper Day has grown into a huge organization that hosts multiple events in North America.

Now you can be a part of this fun event at Disney World this spring.

How to DisneyBound during Dapper Day

DisneyBounding is a term fans made up for outfits that are inspired by Disney characters. You’re not wearing that character’s costume, but instead you are using their outfit’s colors or theming to create a unique outfit.

For example, if you wanted to DisneyBound as the Little Mermaid, you would wear a purple top and green bottoms. Then you can accessorize.

Dapper Day DisneyBounding takes this phenomenon one step up. A mix of period or vintage inspired pieces are put together to create a character’s look. When planning your Dapper Day DisneyBound outfit, look for retro clothing in the colors of the character you want to recreate.
