Motion City Soundtrack: Commit This to Memory 17th Year Anniversary Tour

Motion City Soundtrack is a rock band that originated in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and led a successful career with tons of tours and six albums.

The rock band was originally founded in 1997 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, by singer-songwriter Justin Courtney Pierre and guitarist Joshua Cain. The duo shortly realized that to break out of the local scene, they would have to tour. In the early 2000s, the band’s lineup changed frequently. Eventually, keyboardist Jesse Johnson, bassist Matthew Taylor, and drummer Tony Thaxton became permanent members.

Their 2005 album Commit This to Memory was their first hit and after this, they made it in the music industry.

“Everything is Alright” was literally the golden song of the breakthrough album. It was the gold-certified lead single of the album and became their signature song. The same success followed in their next album Even If It Kills Me (2007). For the next decade, the group continued to tour and even secured a gig on the Warped Tour before calling it quits in 2016. Motion City Soundtrack ended up announcing a reunion in 2019 prompting the Commit This to Memory 17th Year Anniversary Tour.

Caravan Palace Tour 2022

The sound of this electronic band from Paris fuses a unique mix of jazz and punk inspired by Django Reinhardt, Vitalic, Lionel Hampton, and Daft Punk.

Originally, the band was a trio. Their desire to perform live concerts required the band to take on more performers. Now the band members consist of Zoe Colotis, Arnaud “Vial” de Bosredon, Charles Delaporte, Martin Berlugue, Lucas Saint-Cricq, and Paul-Marie Barbier. They gained popularity by releasing new songs on the internet and growing a dedicated fan base. From 2006 to 2007, the band did their first tour around France and landed their first appearance on the Django Reinhardt Jazz Festival. Immediately after playing the festival, the band signed with Wagram Music, based in Paris, and began recording music. Their first hit song was “Jolie Coquine,” a jazz-inspired tune that turned into a fan favorite.
